2nd Source Solutions, LLC is comprised of a variety of instructors from various backgrounds in the fire service. All of our instructors are both career and volunteer, and we understand the issues and difficulties facing the fire service today. All of our classes are geared towards operating more efficiently with limited manpower.
Engine Company Operations
Our Engine Company Operations class focuses on initial engine company operations at structural fires. Topics include line selection, Size Up for the Engine Company, Properly estimating hose stretches, stretching lines with limited manpower, Engine Company Principles, Tips and Tricks for a more efficient stretch, and the 10 sins of Engine Work. The Hands On portion of this class allows students to practice new techniques and principles learned, and is best conducted in a acquired structure or training center setting.
Truck Company Operations
Our Truck Company Operations Class builds upon basic firefighting principles for Ventilation, Entry, and Search. Whether or not your department operates as a ladder company, or has no aerial device at all, These tasks must be performed efficiently at all structural fires. 2nd Source Solutions takes your Truck Company Training to the next level, highlighting tips and techniques that allow firefighters to accomplish “VES” evolutions more efficiently. The Hands On portion of this class allows students to practice new techniques and principles learned, and is best conducted in a acquired structure or training center setting.
R.I.T./F.A.S.T. Operations
2nd Source Solutions’ Firefighter rescue class focuses on real world “firefighter down” scenarios to bring a new level of F.A.S.T. training to the students. The discussion portion of the class reviews various F.A.S.T. operations, and allows the students to analyze the situation and its outcome. The majority of the class is spent on hands-on training, where students will be tasked to effect firefighter rescue in a variety of intricate and complicated evolutions. The hands-on section is best conducted in an acquired structure setting.
Forcible Entry
Gaining access to buildings can be a challenging task. Occupants, owners, and tenants all create numerous obstacles to access. Our forcible entry class teaches proven conventional forcible entry techniques, as well as “through-the-lock” techniques. Whether you are a new firefighter or a seasoned vet, there is plenty of new and current information to be learned in our forcible entry class.
